Sam Keyzer
Sam enjoys camping, reading, movies, some card games, and playing with his grandkids.
He grew up in a small town in Michigan called, Borculo. From there, he went to Dordt College in Sioux Center Iowa, where he earned his bachelor's degree. During that time he was introduced to Karen Russcher, who was living at the time in Holland Michigan and was in training to become a registered nurse. Sam and Karen got married in 1975, and then moved to Mississippi, where Sam received his seminary training at Reformed Theological Seminary and Karen worked at Hinds General Hospital. The blessing of children followed shortly thereafter.
Sam and Karen's first call to ministry came from the Second Christian Reformed church in Randolph WI, where they and their five children lived for seven years. They latter moved to Seattle Washington where Sam continued to serve as a pastor at First Christian Reformed Church.
In 1997 Sam and Karen and their three children still living at home moved to Lincoln, where they began the Northern Lighthouse. Now, in God's gracious providence, all 5 children live in Lincoln, 4 of them are married; and a third grandchild is on the way.
Sam overseas the Northern Lighthouse Church, Oasis, the Lincoln Reintegration Program (RIP), and a Leadership Development Network (LDN). He also serves as a Chaplin for prisoners in the Lincoln area.
